Detailed Description:

There are many ways to ride these trails, either as connectors to Brush Creek rides, or as high quality rides in themselves. They are all good in either direction. Tony's is a smooth intermediate trail, Upper Loop is intermediate with a 1/4 mile long technical expert section, Upper Upper is advanced intermediate up to Whetstone and expert & technical above that trail, Whestone Vista is advanced intermediate, more bumpy than technical.

To get to Tony's, ride east out Elk Ave to it's end,and continue out the dirt road. the signed trail is on the left and is great up or down. Turn right at the top to get to Upper Upper, whetstone Vista, or Skyland. These trails end on Brush Creek Road and left would lead to more good riding on Deer Creek, Strand, or Farris. Turn left to head up to the mountain, Snodgrass or Lupine after riding the Upper Loop uphill.

Another option is to climb the bike path up to Mt. Crested Butte, and ride the Upper Loop in the downhill direction, with the Upper Upper Loop and Whetstone Vista as options to extend the ride.Ride east out of town on Elk Avenue and left on the gravel path just before a cattleguard to connect to the Rec Path up to the town of Mt. Crested Butte. Turn right on Hunter Hill Road in 3 miles, go a short distance and turn right again on Hunter Hill Road. Ride down, then up to the lefthand switchback, where there’s a parking area and a trail sign.
